Melissa S. Amundson
D.D.S. F.A.C.S.
Dr. Melissa Amundson received her dental degree at University of Illinois. She completed her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, in 2012, which was the only level one trauma center in Dade County at the time. She followed this with 3 years of private practice and voluntary faculty at Hospital Escuela in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Dr. Amundson then decided to return to academics in 2015 and recently completed an Advanced Trauma/CMF fellowship at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in trauma and post traumatic reconstruction. She has interests in maxillofacial trauma, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants and orthognathic surgery. Dr. Amundson recently became a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).
Additionally, she is involved in facial cosmetics, including injectables and “Liquid Facelift”. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, travelling, and volunteer mission work.
