Sedation and General Anesthesia

Sedation Dentistry & General Anesthetia

We have multiple levels of sedation options for Portland Oregon oral surgeries

While many oral surgery procedures can be done with standard local anesthetic techniques, several procedures are better performed while our patients are sedated with general anesthetic. All of our surgeons are licensed in dentistry and medicine and have thousands of hours of anesthesia training. Additionally, our surgeons are all certified in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, basic life support, and routinely provide general anesthesia in the outpatient setting. Through the combination of both local and general anesthetic techniques, we are able to provide our patients with a safe, comfortable, and convenient way to have their surgery.

The list to the right is an abridged list of the most common sedation and general anesthetic related topics managed by the highly trained, diverse group of specialists at HNSA. It is for patient information only and is not meant to be all-inclusive.

All of our surgeons are licensed physicians as well as dentists and will work closely with your other doctor(s) to make sure your oral health needs are treated within the context of your overall health.

Very few people enjoy going to the dentist. Even fewer look forward to surgical visits. We understand this and do our best to make the environment at our office comforting and welcoming. We also offer: local anesthesia, oral sedation, nitrous oxide sedation, intravenous general anesthetic, and full general anesthesia with intubation and inhaled agents by a medical anesthesiologist in our AAAHC accredited surgery center.
