Dr. Viet, a former Fellow & alumni of the Head & Neck Surgical Associates Fellowship Training Program was just awarded an NIH K23 grant.

This NIH K23 grant is entitled “Clinical study to evaluate the methylation signature of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma pain” is a five-year grant totaling $1,226,070. With this grant, she and her team aim to develop a research program focused on biomarkers of head and neck cancer pain, using clinical data and samples, as well as preclinical models to study the genetic mechanisms of cancer pain.

We are extremely excited for both Dr. Viet and the future of the industry in hopes of making amazing strides towards continued advancements in head and neck cancer options. We look forward to seeing the amazing progress she and her team are able to accomplish.
